250 EADA full time master participants graduate in Collbató

25 June 2014

A total of 250 participants of the EADA full time masters graduated on June 16th during the traditional academic year closing ceremony held every year on the Collbató residential campus. Each of them was handed their diploma by the directors of their programmes and the president of EADA Foundation, David Parcerisas.

Nigel Hayes, director of the EADA Masters in Finance and Masters in Management made a very favourable assessment of this year: “It has been an exceptional year because of the increase in students and because our international reputation has also risen on the world’s most prestigious rankings such as the one published by the Financial Times”.

This good news has to do with EADA’s commitment to the future careers of its masters participants, “because we not only make sure that they fulfil their initial expectations but that they surpass them” he commented. Consequently, Hayes went on to add “EADA students are better placed in the job market and have more confidence in pursuing their career challenges”.

Four principles for success

In addition to the speeches by the directors of the Accounting & Finance and Marketing programmes, the ceremony was also presided over by Francesc Corberó, Communication manager at Nissan Ibérica, who explained the four principles that constitute the foundation of his professional career: enthusiasm, responsibility, solidarity and change. These are also the four concepts on which all of EADA’s programmes have been designed.

According to Nigel Hayes, “enthusiasm is something the students bring with them when they start a master”. But, he clarifies “it is our job and purpose as professors and directors of the programmes to ensure they maintain this same attitude throughout the academic year”.

Furthermore, at EADA it is a priority to imbue a sense of responsibility in students straight from the start. “Our participants come well qualified and, because most of the work they carry out is in a team, they quickly understand the importance of responsibility both towards themselves and towards others” Hayes pointed out.

Our commitment with solidarity is another of EADA’s fundamental principles. According to the programmes director “we always help students to develop social projects, although very often the initiative comes of their own accord”. A good example is the idea for the “Solidarity sandwich” which the participants on the Master in Management and the International Master in Tourism and Hospitality Management launched in April in order to raise funds to rebuild areas devastated by floods in Serbia and Bosnia.

And finally, referring to change, Hayes pointed to the evolution of EADA’s students from the time they start a master course to when they finish it: “It is a big change for them both on a personal level because of the values they assimilate and because of what they learn from the cultural diversity of our classrooms, but also from the point of view of their future careers, given that they are more qualified to aspire to positions of leadership in a global environment”.
