EADA Business School and CREAF join forces for a more sustainable future
EADA Business School and the Centre for Ecological and Forestry Research of Catalonia (CREAF) have forged a new alliance to drive and implement innovative solutions against climate change. The initiative aims to train current and future business leaders in the sustainable management of ecosystems, with the goal of reducing the environmental impact of companies, promoting sustainable development and the transfer of applied research and technological tools, solving challenges related to sustainable development, and promoting innovation and scientific excellence.
Facing a Global Challenge
About twenty state-owned and multinational companies are responsible for 35% of global greenhouse gas emissions. This reality, which also affects our territory, demands an urgent commitment from the business sector.
Collaboration for Action
EADA and CREAF will work together in three key areas:
- Education: CREAF will provide specialized training in environmental sustainability to EADA students, including topics such as ecosystem functioning, environmental impact measurement, and drought management.
- Impact: Both institutions will exchange experiences and tools to evaluate and improve the impact of sustainability initiatives on businesses and society.
- Research: They will collaborate in advising, mutual support, and searching for national and international projects to develop impact indicators in the field of research and business.
A More Sustainable Future with Responsible Leaders at the Helm
The collaboration between EADA and CREAF represents an important step in the commitment to creating a more sustainable future from the business role. By integrating the dimension of natural ecosystems into business education, the aim is to create a new generation of leaders capable of making responsible decisions and contributing to the regeneration of the planet.
Desirée Knoppen, Director of the Sustainability Hub at EADA, states that "the concerted effort between CREAF and EADA will be able to promote greater harmony between business activities and the ecosystems in which they are embedded." For his part, Enrique Doblas, Head of Knowledge Transfer at CREAF, acknowledges that "this is a perfect time for the agreement because companies want to know their environmental impact and EADA can help transfer CREAF's knowledge to do so."
This initiative is an inspiring example of how academia and research can come together to generate a positive impact on the world. Training business leaders with a comprehensive vision of sustainability is fundamental to building a greener and more prosperous future for all.
