10th anniversary of the Master in Management
This year EADA is celebrating. The occasion is the tenth anniversary of the Master in Management, a very special anniversary that also coincides with the increased international recognition that the programme has received in recent years. One need only look at the ranking of the prestigious daily paper, the Financial Times, which ranks it among the Top 20 best Masters in Management worldwide and 11th as regards the job placement of its participants. Also worth mentioning is the increase in the number of students taking the Master: from 18 in 2004 to a 100 this year of over 50 different nationalities.
“I am proud to announce that over 400 young people from so many different countries who chose EADA to take the plunge into the business world are currently managers of multinational companies, entrepreneurs, people who have continued their parent’s family business and profiles that hold strategic positions in flagship world class companies”, states Jordi Díaz, EADA’s director of studies.
In fact, 89% find employment within three months of finishing the programme. According to Nigel Hayes, director of the EADA Master in Management, “all of them leave well qualified to address the new challenges of the job market and despite the economic crisis in Europe our students receive excellent job offers that have to do with management posts”.

A get-together from all the editions
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Master in Management EADA invited students from all the editions of the programme to the Collbató campus on June 27th and 28th. This get-together was very emotional where alumni who had shared the same classrooms had the chance to catch up with their classmates’ personal and professional lives and those who didn’t know each other could make acquaintances and even do some networking.
On the first day, after chatting and introducing themselves they all took part in a training session on Marketing and Strategic Management given by Alexis Mavrommatis, a professor specialised in Marketing, Retailing, Multichannel strategies, Sustainability and Entrepreneurship, and by Luis Torras, professor of Strategy. In addition to remembering their classes when they had taken the master they all took an active part in very interesting discussions from their current professional perspective. A dinner was held in the evening where they also had the opportunity to talk with Jordi Díaz, Nigel Hayes, the Master programmes technical coordinator, Ariadna Moix, and professors who teach the Management Skills sessions: Koos Vos and Carles Brugarolas, both from the People Management department. The latter was very moved to see “how all the students have evolved one module after another until they accomplished their objectives and began working in what they really love”. According to Brugarolas, the inputs he received from them during the dinner “were a mix of nostalgia for the years they studied in EADA and of satisfaction for having achieved their challenges”:
A gincana was organised on the following day around the pool with various activities that tested their levels of competitiveness.

Objectives accomplished
During these two days several graduates constantly expressed their gratitude. Thus, for example, the French graduate Jean-Pierre Martin Colardeau, from the 2013-14 edition, had this to say, “taking this master was a great experience which has enabled me to grow not only professionally but on a personal level as well”.
The Italian, Stefano Manca, from the first edition, who is currently cofounder and CEO of Karal is Group!, pointed out: “The knowledge I acquired on the programme helped me to set up my own business, and also gave me the opportunity to work in different markets and different cultural environments”. Along the same lines, the Belgian Hassan Bourgi, from the 2010-11edition, currently general manager of busportal.de, positively appraised “the study methodology based on practical cases, because I have had to apply many of them in my company”.
