A pioneering event that will bring together experts to explore the transformative role of Chief Sustainability Officers in organizations.
On February 18, 2025, EADA Business School will celebrate the first CSO Day in Spain, a unique event that will bring together key figures in the field of business sustainability. This meeting, which will take place at the new EADA campus in Barcelona, promises to be a benchmark day for managers and leaders committed to positive impact and sustainable transformation in their companies.
The day will begin with a welcome from Ainhoa Grandes, president of the event, president of the MACBA Foundation, member of the Board of Trustees of the EADA Foundation and Alumni of the Senior Management in Sustainability 2021 program. Ainhoa Grandes will highlight EADA's commitment to sustainability as a strategic priority.
The event will continue with an opening presentation by Cristina Sánchez, Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Spain and Co-President of the Global Network Council at the United Nations Global Compact, entitled “Challenges and Opportunities for CSO Professionals”, reflecting on the key role of these leaders in business transformation.
The event will include two round tables with prominent speakers:
- The first panel, moderated by EADA professor and researcher Dr. Ferran Velasco, will analyse the skills and abilities required by CSOs, as well as emerging challenges and trends. Experts such as Ana Palencia (Director of Communication and Sustainability at Unilever), Sonia Quibus (General Manager of Banco Sabadell and Director of People and Sustainability) and Marta Puyuelo (Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Director at PepsiCo South West) will participate.
- The second panel, moderated by Dr. Desirée Knoppen, director of the Sustainability Hub and the Senior Management Program in Sustainability at EADA, will focus on the strategic impact of CSOs on corporate culture and decisions. It will feature the participation of Elena Valderrábano, Global CSO at Telefónica, along with another speaker yet to be confirmed.
The event will culminate with a special intervention by Manuel Puig, Vice President and President of the ESG Committee of the PUIG Board of Directors. Puig will address the impact that CSOs can have on corporate governance and society. This talk will be moderated by Dr. Federica Massa-Saluzzo, CSO and researcher at EADA.
In addition, attendees will participate in co-creation dynamics designed to identify and enhance the key competencies of CSOs in the current context. The day will conclude with the presentation of the CSO Award, a recognition to leaders who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to sustainability. The award will be presented by Dr. Jordi Díaz, Dean of EADA, and by Mario Rovirosa, CEO of Ferrer, member of the Board of Trustees of the EADA Foundation and president of the award jury.
