EADA ranks as the 23rd best school in Europe

  • Spain places four schools among the top 25, including the number one school
  • With three schools at the top, Barcelona stands out as the European city with the best offer in Business Schools

Spanish business schools have cause for celebration: the main ranking of European business schools (Financial Times European Business School 2012) is being published today and four of them are among the 25 top schools including the first on the ranking. What’s more, the city of Barcelona, with three schools, stands out as the best destination for management students. EADA has obtained its best classification ever and has climbed up to number 23 on the ranking. To draw up its ranking the Financial Times evaluated 80 of the best schools in Europe.

EADA has climbed four positions in comparison with 2011, which means that it has won 22 positions since 2007, according to the table.

According to EADA’s general director, Miquel Espinosa, this trajectory enables us to establish a parallelism with the institution’s methodology and values: “we try to transmit to our students the importance of strategic thinking and decision making with a view to the long term. I personally believe that this reflection is especially applicable to our times, in which the economic situation leads to taking big decisions whilst strictly thinking in the short term.”

In order to draw up the definitive classification of Europe’s top business schools the FT calculates the average for various rankings drawn up throughout the year, which take into account the different programmes offered by the schools (MBA, EMBA, Master in Management, Open Executive Education and Custom Programmes). We should mention the importance that the FT attributes to the school’s faculty in three specific aspects: the presence of women, its international profile and the percentage of doctors.
