Presentation of the International Master in Leadership and Organisational Coaching

17 May 2012

On May 15th EADA presented its new programme in the Area of Manager Development, MILCO: Master Internacional en Liderazgo y Coaching Organizativo (International Master in Leadership and Organisational Coaching). The programme’s directors, Lucia Langa and Steven Poelmans brought up a really important issue: what is going on with the Coach figure?

Today this word is a common word not only in the sports world but also in the business world to such an extent that the word has been misused, often without demonstrating the true quality that being a "coach" entails. Steven expanded on this increasingly common phenomenon whereby we have people who profess to be coaches without having the necessary proven expertise. That’s when the true role of the Coach-Leader comes into play, someone who not only works towards knowing and developing themselves but their team as well (Team Coaching) in order to then make the final leap to the organisation.

The MILCO programme is structured along these 3 key goals, and in that same order, in order to offer the corporate world a top quality master that features international and executive profiles. The learning methodology, based on practical experience, is accompanied by the Coachinglab (in order to work on leadership and coaching competencies in depth using bio and neurofeedback technologies) which makes this programme a unique offering in the training field.
