Ana Céspedes, PhD in Pharmacy, Master in High Health Management at Arthur Andersen, MBA at IESE and a Master in Leadership in Biopharmaceutical Transformation at the London School of Economics. She has held senior management positions in multinational pharmaceutical companies. In 2018 she was hired to direct from New York and worldwide the operations of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI), an organization that develops and supplies cheap medicines for underdeveloped countries.

Céspedes coordinates the organization's operations worldwide: with a budget of 100 million dollars, four research laboratories and five locations. Among his responsibilities are the areas of strategy, financial, legal, business development, access, relations with institutions, communication and human resources of the 200 people that the firm has around the planet.

The ultimate measure of leaders is not where they stand in the moments of fortune and certainty, but what they stand at times of adversity and anxiety.
